During the procedure, the nurse uses sterile instruments and appropriate techniques to remove the sutures safely, minimising discomfort for the patient and reducing the risk of complications as much as possible. The nurse may also give the patient instructions on wound care after suture removal, such as cleaning and applying appropriate dressings.
