Streptococcal infections are caused by a group of bacteria called streptococci; there are several types, and their manifestations range from mild sore throats to potentially fatal infections of the blood or organs.
It is recommended not to undergo the test during antibiotic treatment. Allow at least 7 days after the last antibiotic dose.
The patient must attend the laboratory fasting and without having brushed their teeth; avoid using mouthwash.
